This Moscow apartment featuring the area of 155 sq.m has been developed by Olesya Sitnikova and Ekaterina Tulupova, an architect and a designer, for a very progressive, clever and talented young man. At least, this is the impression he has made on the authors. According to their common opinion, it was a great pleasure to work with the customer which resulted in an apartment with a warm and unique spirit filled atmosphere.
Ekaterina Tulupova and Olesya Sitnikova, a designer and an architect, respectively, got to know each other when studied in Milan, and in Moscow they founded Arch.Predmet Interior Design Studio. Sitting in their new office, the owners of the studio provided InMyRoom with information on points of difference between education in Russia and in Italy and told about making the interior of a real town mansion.
What is your estimate of the quality with regard to design education in Russia?
Active and enthusiastic, loving to surprise and be surprised – such description of their customers was given by the authors of the project. As a result, an eclectic interior with a certain influence of English style has perfectly demonstrated the character and preferences of this young married couple passionate about travelling and always open to new experiences. Moreover, the specifics of initial space contributed to implementation of such a solution to its best: the apartment was located in Aerobus Residential Complex, on one of its last floors.

Between 29 August and 25 November, Venice hosts the 13th International Architecture Biennale – the event which determines relevant trends in architecture for the next two years. This year, the Russian pavilion has received a Special mention in the Best National Participation nomination with the wording as follows: “for a dialectic approach to Russia’s past, present and future which in the process turns us all into digital spies”.
Olesya Sitnikova and Ekaterina Tulupova developed a laconic city interior featuring the elements of country style. In the living room, they made a magnificent fireplace, in the kitchen – a sink of modern design, and they have chosen … pipes to serve as main decorative accent.
The wall with a fresco containing such tea-set elements as cups, spoons and saucers was one of major accents in the kitchen makeover. In such an unusual way the designer Olesya Sitnikova decided to lay emphasis on the dining area.
